Private open quota and management seats through KEA (open quota closed after 1.5 lakh in 16 branches in 2025), and deemed universities through MCC. Karnataka government-quota seats are not open to you.

Between 1 and 2 lakh, the difference between a seat and a lost year is usually the order of choices and which rounds you stay in. Our Bengaluru team has guided medical admissions since 2007 and builds your KEA and MCC plan across every branch and seat type you qualify for.
Yes. In KEA 2025, management seats closed after 2 lakh in 16 branches, private open-quota seats closed between 1 and 2 lakh in 10 branches and after 2 lakh in 8 more, and NRI seats closed between 1 and 1.33 lakh in 13 branches.
In 2025, private open quota closed after 1.5 lakh in Paediatrics (1,53,741), OBG (1,50,245), General Surgery (1,66,114), Ophthalmology (1,67,750), Anaesthesiology (1,76,820), Respiratory Medicine (1,54,544), Orthopaedics (2,02,825) and ENT (2,27,323). GMP closed at 1,65,579 in General Medicine. Management seats in most clinical branches closed after 2 lakh.
Only in some non-clinical branches, and mostly in the final rounds. Government quota (GM) closed at 1,21,147 in Hospital Administration and after 2 lakh in Pathology, Pharmacology, Microbiology, Community Medicine, Forensic Medicine, Biochemistry and Physiology. For SC candidates, government quota closed after 1 lakh in 11 branches.
Yes. In 2025, management seats closed between 1,71,488 and 2,29,475 across 18 branches, so a rank of 1–2 lakh was within the management range in almost every branch. Listed management fees (2025 KEA matrix): General Medicine ₹65.15 lakh – ₹1.10 crore; Radiology ₹75.15 lakh – ₹1.60 crore; Dermatology ₹75.15 lakh – ₹1.50 crore; Paediatrics ₹60.15 lakh – ₹1.20 crore; OBG ₹60.15 lakh – ₹1.08 crore.
The last seats of any type closed at 2,29,968 (Community Medicine, government quota), 2,29,475 (OBG, management) and 2,29,111 (Microbiology, government quota). Most clinical management seats also closed after 2.2 lakh.
Yes, through private open quota and management seats in KEA counselling, and through deemed universities in MCC counselling. In 2025, open quota closed after 1 lakh in 18 of 22 branches and management in all 18 branches that published a management rank.
It depends on the seat type. Private open-quota and GMP seats pay the private fee of the college, NRI seats pay the NRI fee and management seats pay the management fee. For MD General Medicine, Radiology, Dermatology, Paediatrics and MS OBG, the 2025 KEA fee matrix lists about ₹7.83 lakh a year for a government-quota seat in most private colleges, ₹13,87,994 a year for a private seat at most private colleges, and management fees from ₹60.15 lakh to ₹1.60 crore.
Not exactly. Private open quota closed later in 2025 than in 2024 in 20 of 22 branches — for example Orthopaedics moved from 1,10,546 to 2,02,825 — but ranks move with seats and candidates every year. Use 2025 as a range and keep back-up choices.
