NEET 2020 result has been announced by the NTA (National Testing Agency) on its official website ntaneet.nic.in on October 16. NTA has released the combined result for both phases (phase 1 & phase 2) held on September 13 & October 14. Final answer keys have also been released one hour before the announcement of result.
Candidates can download their scorecard from NTA’s official website by log in into their registered account. They must know their Roll no. & DOB before log in into their accounts to check out results and download scorecards. Category-wise cut off list has also been issued by the NTA. Rank for all different categories will be allocated based on the score obtained in the exam.
NTA will not entertain any request for the Re-evaluation of answer sheets post the declaration of result. Candidates who qualified NEET 2020 are going to be eligible to participate in the Counselling process, which will be conducted at both State & National level. The national-level counselling for admissions will be conducted by Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) for 15% all India Quota Seats.
Merit list is yet to be declared by NTA. Colleges will release its cut-off list once the merit list is issued. This year, over 14.37 lakhs students appeared for the NEET 2020 medical entrance exam despite the pandemic situation, in which around 7.72 lakhs students qualified the exam. Soyeb Aftab of Odisha & Akanksha Singh of Delhi scored 720 marks and secured 1st & 2nd rank all over India.
The cut-off set for this year, 2020, is higher than the previous year, 2019. The cut-off has gone up from 701-134 last year to 720-147 for Unreserved category. Marks range set for OBC, SC & ST is same i.e. 146-113. The NEET 2020 cut-off for UR/EWS & PH has surged to 146-129.
